A Few Hours Laterâ¦..
Of course Kass was still knocked out, so I went to check on the babies. They were knocked out just like their no good father. I dreamed about killing his ass in his sleep, but if it was true that he had killed Nadia, then they needed his dirty ass around. Even if I did plan to have his ass locked up for the murder of their mother, at least heâd be alive to see them grown up. Watching them from the glass was better than not seeing them at all.
Going downstairs to turn on my Keurig for my morning cup of coffee, I settled myself at the bar in our kitchen as I scrolled the news app on my phone. Scrolling like I did every morning, the first thing that jumped out at me was a woman and man slain in the middle of the night and her kids were nowhere to be found. Dropping my phone and covering my mouth with my hand, I didnât want to believe that Kass could be so dangerous and ugly. He was a coldhearted nigga and although I hated Nadia with every fiber of my being, I never wanted her dead. She had two kids that needed her. But wait! Maybe it wasnât Nadia. Maybe I was jumping to conclusions. Hell no! It had to be her and Rob. The man they were referring to had to be Rob and thatâs why Kass had his phone too. Feeling somewhat skeptical, it still wasnât enough to say heâd killed them, so I re-opened the app to find the story again.
Skimming through the read, all skepticism had gone out the window when they said the family had not been notified, therefore they couldnât release the names yet, but she had a set of twins that were currently missing. He killed Nadia! Shit, and Rob! Placing my phone back on the counter, I went to grab my cup of coffee and the doorbell rang.
Startled, I flinched at the sound of the bell. Making my way to the door, I yanked it open to the Spartanburg County Police Department standing front and center.
âYes. Can I help you?â I took a sip of my coffee. Trying to stay calm was hard, but I didnât want to give off that I was scared or nervous.
âYes, I'm Officer Nate Evans and I was wondering if Mr. Brown was in?â
âHe is, but he is asleep. Can I help you with anything?â
âWell, it's sort of urgent maâam. And Mr. Brown is the only one that can help us.â
I bet so.
âOkay, well come on in.â I scooted out of the way and the officer, along with three more, stepped inside.
Closing the door, I walked in front of each officer.
âIâll be right back. Please have a seat in the den.â I pointed my finger across the hall where the family room was located. Making sure each of them walked inside of the room, I took the stairs two at time to wake up Kass.
